The Steve & Kathy Show Captures Prestigious Awards Despite Censorship
(Kansas City, MO) May 1, 2007 - Judges for the prestigious 28th Annual Telly Awards have selected The Steve & Kathy Show as a recipient for a total of 29 Telly Awards. “What a statement this makes when some religious networks refused to return our calls,” says creator and founder of The Steve & Kathy Show, Steve Gray. “Not only is America ready for a religion that works, but it is ready for a new, relevant approach in programming. And we certainly are prepared to give it to them,” he added. Gray, who writes most of the copy, with a team of “homegrown” producers, directors, and camera men, has achieved what veterans in the field have yet to accomplish. Gray states, “We wanted to produce something that was top quality through the equipment, cameras, stage, the band, and everything you need to produce a great show. The show is unique. Though we use humor and satire, there is a purpose.” Gray continues, “We are exposing the absurdities of religion while bringing hope to the very ones who have been excluded by it.” Entire episodes and segments of The Steve & Kathy Show were selected to receive awards in several categories,
including use of humor, religious/spiritual, entertainment, comedy, videography, editing and political commentary.
The Telly Awards is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, and video and film productions. The Telly Awards is a widely known and highly respected national and international competition and receives over 12,000 entries annually from all 50 states and many foreign countries.
