Emmy® Nominees Announced!
Steve Gray Nominated Four Times!

The results are in for the 2008 Emmy® Award Nominations from the Mid-America Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS). With nearly 750 entries in 85 categories, first time participant Steve Gray, was nominated four times.

Drum roll........ And the nominee in the category Religion is...

Real Preachers of Genius: Mega Church Pastor - Steve Gray

And that was just the beginning. Relative newcomer, Steve Gray was nominated a total of four times including 2 additional nominations in this same category. In addition to the Real Preachers of Genius Skit, modeled after the Super Bowl commercial of a similar name, two nominations were received for:

Cheaters Church Edition - Steve Gray and Church of the Week: Smokers Church - Steve Gray

In addition, Gray was nominated in the category "Human Interest - Program Story/Feature for an inspiring story known "Autumn D." the personal account of a young woman devastated by a dark secret that left her suicidal, but found hope through a powerful encounter with God.

Steve Gray, creator and executive producer of the Steve and Kathy show, now in its 3rd season, has distinguished himself early in his short career in television, capturing 29 Telly Award in the first season and raking in 19 additional awards the following year. Four Emmy® nominations place Gray in another league.

"This is great news for Christian programming" says Gray. "We have created a show that pushes the boundaries of traditional Christian television while offering people a religion that works. I am excited for everything this means."

"Earning a 'nomination' is a huge thing," added producer John Eschenbaum who was present to receive the news. "This is amazing and speaks to the tremendous vision of Steve Gray and the hard work from the committed team he has put together."

October 4 marks the 2008 Gala Emmy Award Presentation in St. Louis, MO. The mission of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences is to promote creativity, diversity, innovation and excellence through recognition, education and leadership in the advancement of the telecommunications arts and sciences.
