If you've been enjoying The Steve & Kathy Show, you are
not alone. The audience for this unique Christian television show is interesting and
diverse. Young and old and from many walks of life, people are tuning in to
catch the humor of this dynamic duo and to hear what Steve's got to say on a
variety of issues facing the church and our nation.
With any TV show, it's important to know who's watching. Ratings give a pretty clear picture of who's tuning in, but they don't distinguish between viewers who are sleeping in front of that plasma
screen and the ones who are really interested. It can be hard to rate the impact of a show because of those variables. The good news for The Steve & Kathy Show is that through blogs, phone-ins, emails,
and face-to-face encounters, we are building first-name relationships with viewers from all over the country. And the great thing we're finding out is that
this non-traditional Christian television show is making its mark and making a
difference in the lives of people who are watching.
Twenty-two year old Matt is a great story of a life impacted
by The Steve & Kathy Show. It was Saturday night and he was watching late
night TV. Flipping through the channels, he came upon this Christian television show
and figured it would be worth watching - at least to make fun of what he
thought would be another stereotypical Christian television program. The longer he watched, the
longer Matt realized that this was not just another run-of-the mill Christian show.
This was the most unique program he had ever watched.
Matt had been actively involved in his former church, even
to the point of considering full-time ministry there. But being on the inside
of things, he knew that the church had a lot of problems - politics and bad doctrine
that spelled ineffective Christianity. Knowing that there had to be better ways
of doing things, the opportunity to enroll at World Revival School of Ministry and attend World Revival Church was
life-changing for him. "It set me on a completely different journey, to do
bigger and better things than what I ever dreamed before. If I had gone into
ministry before as I planned, there is no way I would have survived. I would
have been eaten alive."
As a second-year student at World Revival School of Ministry, Matt plays a part in
the behind-the-scenes production of The Steve and Kathy Show and is a great
example of how good Christian television can affect lives. In Matt's words, "The
Steve & Kathy Show absolutely impacted my life and produced good fruit. It
planted a seed to get me to World
Revival Church.
I think the show makes people curious to see what God's doing here. My plan is to
learn how to reproduce this experience with God in others."
The Steve & Kathy Show also changed the life of Kalissa and her friend. Kalissa's friend had just gone through a horrific
experience. Shot nine times at close range by her husband with a .45 pistol and
left for dead, miraculously she survived the ordeal and was taken to the
hospital. Her bladder, colon and spinal cord were all severely damaged, she had
received several shots to the head, and both of her hands were broken from
trying to protect herself from this diabolical assault. The doctors said she
would never recover - that she would never walk, talk, eat or hear again.
It wasn't coincidence that Kalissa was watching The Steve
& Kathy Show while her friend lay traumatized in a hospital bed. When an
ad flashed about the House of Hope and Healing, a ministry developed by Steve
and Kathy, Kalissa called in a prayer request for her friend and the trained
volunteers of this prayer ministry began to call on the power of God to intervene.
The results astounded everyone. Within months, Kalissa's friend is now walking, talking, and hearing with no problems. In
Kalissa's words, "It's miraculous. At first they thought she was dead and
had called for the coroner's. Now the doctors are just in amazement."
Kalissa watches The Steve & Kathy Show on CTN in Florida. She
believes love is an action word and she's seeing action in the
ministry of Steve and Kathy. Kalissa says "They're not just saying things, they're helping
people find God."
There's a growing community of people who are grabbing hold
of the message and the ministry of The Steve & Kathy Show. The confidence
of Steve and Kathy and the fruit of their lives have emboldened others to quit
settling for the religious status quo and start reaching for an experience with
God that can really impact the world around them. Making it's mark with a
unique approach to Christian television that's real and powerful, The Steve and Kathy
Show is gathering great new friends along the way.
