Meet the Cast
The cast of The Steve & Kathy Show is as diverse as it is talented. All volunteers, the cast draws from the best in the Kansas City metropolitan area. With backgrounds in TV, film, theater, commercials and even opera, these experienced actors are gifted, funny, artistic and clever - all essential traits of an award-winning show and cast.
James Galbraith, who appears in sketches like Sandbox Kids, The Office and others, answers our questions about his experience and involvement on the show.
What's your background, experience in acting?
Well, it all started when I was a swan in the play 'The Ugly Duckling.' I was eight, but what passion. Since then through high school and other various avenues, I had starred in several stage plays, including Guys n Dolls, Chicago and Godspell.
Why are you on The Steve & Kathy Show?
I think this show is a great way to reach people outside our normal influences. It is a pioneering show that can really bridge the gap between those who really think the church and Christianity is of no use to those who have been touched by the very real presence of God. I'm excited to be a part of something that can connect people in some way, shape or form to the real living God most have never experienced.
What skit have you enjoyed being in most?
This is tough because there are many I like. I would have to say that my character in the Sandbox Kids is my favorite. It allows me to really run with a character and make him as funny as possible. He's the guy everyone loves to hate, but can't stop watching.
What's the best thing about The Steve & Kathy Show?
The best thing about this show is that it is not afraid to say what many would not say...ever. It's all up in our traditional religious faces and saying, "Wow, the truth does hurt a little doesn't it? Now what are we going to do about it?"
What do most people not know about you?
I don't think many people realize that I was one of the few originals on the show. I remember when John (Producer), David (Lighting and Editor), Claire (Graphics) and myself (Sound Engineer and Actor) were the only staff for the show and made this thing work somehow. Well, it did work and now we are moving into what I think is the pivotal moment of all our lives. Also, I hate frogs and play the guitar occasionally.
